It's spring time, and the termites are busy. In the rainy spring and fall times termites look to expand their nests. They do this by sending out winged termites called swarmers.
Swarmer termites are young king and queen termites that leave to start new colonies. Termites like to stay moist, so you will usually see this swarming in the mornings or evenings after a rain storm when the moisture in the air is high.
The young kings and queens will pair off and go start a new colony. These colonies won't start very grandiose, just with the king and queen, but the queen will start laying eggs and will hatch a few workers. These workers will then start caring for the colony, gathering food and caring for the young. As the worker termites get the colony established, the queen termite will start laying more and more eggs and the colony will keep expanding.
